We install both domestic and commercial plumbing systems and are happy to work to your specification or recommend the system which we feel is most suitable. Plumbing portfolio
We can install a variety of boiler types and sizes on site for our clients, whether they be conventional or "traditional" boilers (i.e. tank fed), combination systems (often referred to as "Combi boilers") or sealed system boilers with unvented hot water cylinders. Unvented hot water systems, often referred to as "Megaflos" are becoming more an more popular, for a number of reasons. They have many advantages over traditional systems, are highly effecient and can produce excellent hot water pressure. Please click on the Heatrea Sadia link below for further details on these units. It is important to note that in order for these units to operate to a satisfactory level, the property housing the unit must have sufficient water pressure and flow rate on the incoming main. In situations where this cannot be achieved (which is very rare) the unit should not be considered. The installation of these units falls under Building Regulations however our installers have attended the relevant training courses and are able to, through Corgi, self certify their work. This way you know that the job has been done properly and most importantly is safe to use. If incorrectly installed, these units can be potentially dangerous. If in doubt, please contact us for free advice from a corgi registered installer.

ENERGY CONSERVATION
Our engineers have attended the City & Guilds training programme Level 3 in Energy Efficiency which focuses on energy conservation within the heating sector. It is very common for installers to oversize boilers for the properties that they serve. This wastes energy and ultimately ends up costing householders more money in their fuel bills. We have been trained not to guess but to calculate using government produced charts. There are many areas where you can reduce your heating bills. Here are a few tips related to the heating side of things:
* Ensure pipework is correctly lagged where required
* Turn your room thermostat down a touch. This can make a big difference to you annual gas bill
* Is your hot water cylinder lagged? If not, you are wasting a huge amount of energy!
* The more controls a system has, the more effecient. So a system with a room thermostat, cylinder thermostat, programmer and thermostatic valves will be far more effecient than a system with say just a thermostat on the boiler.
* If your current boiler is on its last legs, then you should consider replacing it with a condensing boiler. These are far more effecient than their predecessors.
* Ensure that you always have a suitable inhibitor in your central heating system. This reduces the build up of sludge, so your system will operate more smoothly and effeciently. Your last plumber / heating engineer should have left in a visible place a notice (normally the manufacturers sticker) that states when the last dose of chemicals was added. If in doubt, please contact us for further advice.
